Hi, I’m Nakia… an artist, a storyteller, and the heart behind Pink Bloom Arts..

Art wasn’t my first creative outlet. I actually started with music and dance, they were my first loves. I dabbled in visual art here and there, but it didn’t become something I fully leaned into until later.

During a difficult time, when music no longer felt like something I could turn to, art became the safe space I needed. A space to process, to express, and to feel. It helped me move through emotions I couldn’t put into words, and it’s stayed with me ever since.

🎨 What Inspires My Work

Life. Honestly, life.

My experiences, my reflections, my family, the things I love, music, nature, photography, dance, TV shows, random conversations, it all plays a role. Every piece I create holds something personal. It might come from a specific memory or just a feeling I’m trying to explore.

Sometimes it’s soft. Sometimes it’s heavy. But it’s always real.

💛 What I Hope You Feel

I don’t want my work to be something you just look at. I want you to feel something when you see it.

Whether it’s a quiet recognition, a moment of comfort, or simply the sense that you’re not alone, I want you to connect. I want this to be a space where people feel seen, where emotions are welcomed, and where community can grow between like-minded creatives.

This isn’t just about art. This is about belonging.

🧵 What I'm Creating Now

Right now, I’m working on a series of concept-driven, emotion-based pieces, rooted in real experiences. I’m also building a cozy little merch line called The Mango Meter, which will include apparel, mugs, tote bags, keychains, and accessories inspired by emotional stages of connection (and a whole lot of softness).

My current goal is to finish six solid pieces before officially launching the shop. I want to make sure that whatever I put out feels intentional, and true to me.

🌼 Where I'm Headed

I’m still in the early stages of my journey as an artist, and there’s so much I want to do. I want to work with brands I believe in, take on commissions, create meaningful collections, and maybe even paint a mural one day.

Mostly, I want to keep growing, as a creative, as a person, and as part of a community that values depth, meaning, and self-expression.
